Space Invaders

By Harry Singer.

A retro arcade classic and pop culture icon. So popular, the release of this game in 1978 even caused a shortage of 100-Yen coins in Japan! As you shoot the aliens, they become faster and faster. This was not programmed intentionally as a challenging gameplay mechanic, but a side-effect as processor speed increases with fewer graphics! This really was cutting edge computing at the time.
